There’s an ebb and flow to life; one that’s unexpected and unpredictable. Along the way, we encounter joy and sadness, good and bad, beauty and ugliness. But through these changes, we always have a place to come back to: ourselves.
Ebb n’ Flow Yoga was built around this concept of life. Mother-daughter duo Kim and Gabrielle wanted a place that celebrated the individuals who walk the earth; the ones who experience a fork in the road when they least expect it or the ones who just need a safe space. They wanted to allow these beings to find peace amidst all the ebbs and flows.
Each person who walks through the door helps to nurture the community that’s been built. Each person is part of the studio’s soul. Each person brings their own story and unique charm.
As we all do throughout the course of a lifetime, the studio entered new seasons. With Kim still at the heart of Ebb n’ Flow, the community welcomed Liz, a Special Education Teacher and certified yoga instructor.
Liz embarked on her journey with Ebb n’ Flow believing that whoever enters the studio will come to learn that life’s not about fighting against our struggles, but rather flowing with the path it puts us on.
Embrace each beginning and end. Embrace each up and down. Embrace the changing of the tides and know that wherever you go, you always have somewhere to return.
Say Hello to Liz
I was first introduced to yoga in 2000 when I was studying Education and the art of becoming an anxiety-ridden insomniac! At the time, the thought of yoga meant “slowing down”, which was terrifying and seemed better suited for “hippies” and “tea people”, not me! But after accidentally stumbling into my first class, I was shocked to discover that this “slowing down” was not only the most challenging work-out I’d ever had, but for the first time in ages, I felt a deep sense of peace. Excited and inspired to learn more, I began my study and practice of yoga.
I believe that a yoga practice is truly a complete mind-body experience for everybody and every body. Whether you are a seasoned yogi or learning to do your first downward dog, you will find a positive and encouraging atmosphere in all of Ebb n’ Flow’s classes. I know that only when you start to see who and what you truly are and trust oneself does life seem less about struggle and more about flowing with your true path.
I graduated with a B.A. in psychology and a M.A. in education. I am certified special education teacher and taught for several years in the Massachusetts Public school system. I completed my 200-hour training with Yoga of Energy Flow and my 500-hour training with Down Under School of Yoga. I had the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka and stay for an extended period of time to study meditation and yoga with several outstanding teachers. I am honored to have had the opportunity to train with some of the most respected and sought after yoga teachers worldwide, including Natasha Rizopoulos, Daniel Orlansky and Selena Burgess.
I look forward to working together with everyone at Ebb n’ Flow Yoga, and I am open for questions, feedback and suggestions. My hope is that Ebb, n’ Flow continues to grow while fostering harmony in the mind, body and soul of everyone who walks through our doors.
Namaste. Hope to see you in the studio.
